SAD BALLAD OF TRUMPET (Spain, 2010) Drama. Average: 7.60

Direct r: Álex de la Iglesia
---
Main Cast: Carlos Areces, Antonio de la Torre, Santiago Segura, Carolina Bang. ---

Argument: During the English Civil War in 1937, a clown (the sad), will be forcibly recruited to fight the Republican side. His son, as a result of trauma received when an adult will bring all her rage to enroll in a circus as a clown and meet a beautiful trapeze artist, who has a love-hate relationship with another clown.
The fight between the two men will be terrible
. ---

My opinion: Good film Álex de la Iglesia, undoubtedly his best work, course in the purely industrial aspect, but also in the plot, despite leaving, as is usual with him, in the hills of Ubeda on numerous occasions.
happens that the first half hour is gorgeous, strong, flawless from the viewpoint of visual and dramatic, with a feverish assembly and staging commendable.
However, house brand De la Iglesia, little by little the argument becomes more and more bizarre, with twists and turns that the viewer sura somewhat, giving the feeling of being completely without a preset course. Say that it seems that the Church makes room for his respects to his crazed characters who are letting them set the pace.

This is positive and negative at the time. Negative thinking is just that the film goes more or less positive because it is more fresh and free, without doubt, leaving the viewer to break at any time, likes, and much, by what happens.
A "comedy? very sad, that has its moments of laughter and many smiles, but that leaves you quite icy heart with an ending that leaves no room for doubt.
Excellent atmosphere, dazzling lighting and photography, and some great performances, but rather Santiago Segura, with a short but rich and important character takes over the soul of the story to be the leitmotiv of the protagonist.
An unusual English film that deserves not only respect, but viewing, which is much, much work in

Allowancerequest Letter

Carancha (Argentina, 2010) Black, Social. Average: 6.33

Director: Pablo Trapero
---
Main Cast: Ricardo Darn, Martina Gusman, Carlos Weber, José Luis Arias, Fabio Ronzano. ---

Argument: die each year in Argentina more than 8,000 people in traffic accidents. Behind each of these tragedies is a real industry-based compensation insurance and the weakness of the law.
Sosa is a lawyer who runs the emergency rooms of hospitals and public health stations for potential customers.
Luján is a young doctor newly arrived from the provinces.
The love story begins the night Sosa Luján and known on the street.
She tries to save the life of a man; he tries to be your client
. ---

My opinion: tough film Argentina, that his country has caused real anger in his dirty, violent realism.
A stunning film that grips the viewer's gut and releases it during the whole film.

A very enjoyable film, poignant, brave and persistent losers, maybe wrong, especially in their methods, but better the wolves that threaten the herd, which we all are.
Great film, very dramatic, unusual and romantic moments.
All exudes authenticity, so fully convinces

What Does The Bad High Mean

NEDS (UK, Italy, France, 2010) Social Drama. Average: 6.50

Director: Peter Mullan
---
Main Cast: Connor McCarron, Steven Robertson, Martin Bell, Marcus Nash, David McKay. ---

Argument: Glasgow, 1973. John McGill is about to start high school.
is a smart guy, sensitive, eager to learn, but nothing seems to favor him. His family is very poor and his father, whom he hates, a drunkard and a brute.
Teachers are against from the beginning, and he was punished for the "sins" of his older brother, Benny. The Neds, "uneducated and criminals." Armed bad guys and pimps: cheap drugs, glam rock, sex, violence and camaraderie. Monsters and local heroes.
's reputation for protecting her brother Benny. Frightened, resentful and angry, John makes a decision. If anyone wants to give it a try, fuck that! He dives into the wild life of the street.
Anger and frustration carrying him farther, to be alone against a blank wall. No future.
And then comes an unexpected and extraordinary opportunity to redeem
. ---

My opinion: Film winning the Golden Shell for best film at the prestigious International Film Festival of Donostia (San Sebastian) 2010 is, however, and despite their obvious interest, a film that fails to convince entirely.
This is, again, an interesting exercise in social films of the early seventies, in a particular place, Glasgow, Scotland, where youth violence in the form of bands, due to the tremendous politico-socio-labor the moment, with a great crisis of work disenchantment identity crisis and debauchery, create tremendous difficulties for the future of smart guys and girls could go far, even through college, finally get their goals.

All this is narrated with strength but with notable defects pace and script, not having a perfect continuity, but to go, or so sometimes seems to wander.
This makes it quite irregular, with very intense moments filled with great dramatic force, with others that seem implausible even in spite of its obvious plausibility. In addition, the director and actor Peter Mullan , talks about what he actually met a young man, so he could have demanded a little more passion in what he narrates. It seems that such was his approach, but leave some distance and let the characters speak for him.
Although the Festival of Donostia, the press pass, this is not appreciated enough, it seems that the jury did, that gave the first prize.
Congratulations, you now have to wait and see what the public says, now that
been released.
