Grit (True Grit) (USA, 2010) Western. Media: 6.85
Director: Coen Brothers
--- Main Cast: Jeff Bridges. Hailee Steinfeld. Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Barry Pepper, Dakin Matthews, Jarlath Conroy.
--- Argument: Following the murder of his father Tom Chaney, Mattie Ross, a fourteen year old girl determined to do justice, and engages the services of veteran sheriff Rooster Cogburn, a trigger-happy drunk. Both pursue the criminal
Indian territory and try to catch it before you do LaBeouf, a Texas Ranger, whose mission is to take it to be tried for the murder of another man ... ---
My opinion: Remake, or so, the Coen brothers' film of the same title, and the great actor John Wayne.
In fact, according to Coen, is another good adaptation of the novel on which it is based.
And of course I believe them. What happens is that, despite the critics are saying the opposite, I do not think that is better than its predecessor.
Yes, it is better technically finished, but I do not care more than convince me emotionally and even just to entertain me more than that. And no.
I think that this time it takes to get down, not excited in general and that there is something bizarre at various times, although the classic label is always present. I mean it's a serious movie, of course, worthy and beautifully made, but I'm not totally convinced, leaving a rather bitter aftertaste of lost opportunity.
But, hey, I guess I'm the wrong because it seems that no doubt is much better than the first. But I liked that, what can we do.
